Recovery Alaska is a place to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles.” This experience allows us to “be changed.” By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. We offer the following programs at 7pm on Tuesday nights:

Mens:
Drug & Alcohol
Sexual Addiction
Women’s:
Drug & Alcohol
Partners in Process
Sarah’s Laughter
Combined:
Anger Management
GriefShare
DivorceCare (starting April 8)
DivorceCare for Kids (starting April 8)

FAQ

Groups can meet just about anywhere. Typically, they meet in homes, but some may meet at the church or other public locations.

Small groups meet at various days and times of the week. This helps you find a group that will work for your schedule.

A Group meeting usually last for about an hour and a half. They typically meet every week during the “group semester.” The Group Semesters at Mountain City Church run 12 weeks in the Fall, 12 weeks in the Winter/Spring, and 6 weeks in the Summer. The next semester will begin February 2023.

Mountain City Church doesn’t offer childcare for Groups. However, some Groups share the responsibility of arranging their own childcare by finding sitters or making other arrangements. Some Groups include children while they meet. As a church we don’t want anything to stand in the way of someone being in a group so if child care is the only obstacle stopping you from being in a group talk to your group leader or the Groups Director about options.

Our groups are focused around a few different “HUBs” such as men’s groups, women’s groups, marriage groups, parenting groups, freedom groups, and starting point groups.

All of our groups will be discussing biblical truths in order to help you grow spiritually. The specific study will often vary by group depending on the focus of the group.

Starting Point groups are groups for those that are new to the faith or spiritually curious and want a safe place to investigate Christianity. The content is a 8-week conversation based study called “Starting Point.”
