Restoring Hope to Engage Your Destiny
Life often confronts us with moments of profound fear, uncertainty, and brokenness. These moments, though challenging, present an opportunity to choose faith over fear and hope over despair. At the heart of this choice lies a call to live boldly, fully engaged in the purpose and destiny that God has designed for us. To embrace this call, we must understand the transformative power of resurrection—both personal and multiplying—and how it can reshape our lives.
Fear: A Spirit, Not Just an Emotion
Fear has a way of gripping us, paralyzing our ability to think clearly and act decisively. The Bible reminds us that fear is not from God. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear is not merely an emotion but a spiritual attack designed to keep us from stepping into God’s promises. It thrives on uncertainty and exploits our weaknesses, leading to poor decisions and robbing us of hope.
But there is an antidote: faith. The Bible teaches that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith and fear cannot coexist, and every step taken in faith moves us closer to God’s purpose for our lives.
The Journey Through Tribulation to Hope
Romans 5:3-5 outlines a transformative pathway: tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance builds character, and character leads to hope. Hope, anchored in God’s promises, does not disappoint. This process is not just about enduring trials but about allowing them to shape us into people who reflect God’s glory and purpose.
To live with hope is to believe for things unseen, to trust in God’s plan even when circumstances seem insurmountable. Hope is dangerous to the forces of darkness because it fuels action, faith, and transformation.
Believing in a Personal Resurrection
Each of us faces moments of deep personal struggle—moments when despair feels overwhelming. Whether it’s guilt, shame, or pain from past experiences, these burdens can feel insurmountable. Yet, God specializes in turning pain into purpose.
Consider the disciples after Jesus’ crucifixion. They had left everything to follow Him, only to see Him taken, beaten, and killed. In their grief and confusion, they couldn’t see the victory that lay ahead. But with the resurrection, everything changed. Jesus’ triumph over death gave their suffering meaning and their lives a renewed mission.
In our darkest moments, God is often preparing a resurrection. Whether it’s healing, restoration, or a new purpose, we are invited to trust that God is working for good, even when we cannot see it.
Multiplying Resurrection: A Call to Impact
God’s work in our lives is never just for us—it is designed to ripple outward, impacting others. When we experience resurrection in our own lives, we are called to bring that hope to the world. This is the multiplying power of resurrection.
For example, Vietnam veterans, who endured unimaginable pain and rejection, often carried wounds long after the war. Yet, through events that honored and welcomed them, many found healing and restoration. These moments weren’t just about individual healing—they sparked movements of hope for entire communities.
When we step into God’s calling, He uses our lives to inspire and transform others. Our obedience and faith can catalyze change far beyond what we imagine.
Answering the Call: Here Am I, Send Me
Living a life of hope requires action. It means stepping out of comfort, apathy, or fear and saying, “Here am I, Lord. Send me.” Like the prophet Isaiah, who humbled himself before God and embraced his mission, we are invited to surrender to God’s will.
This surrender isn’t about having all the answers or feeling completely ready. It’s about trusting that God equips the called and uses broken people to accomplish extraordinary things.
A Life Marked by Resurrection and Hope
Hope is not passive. It requires us to actively believe in God’s promises, even when life feels overwhelming. It challenges us to let go of fear and embrace faith. It calls us to look beyond ourselves, trusting that God can use our lives to impact the world.
If you are in a place of brokenness, believe for a personal resurrection. If you feel a stirring for more, ask God to use you to multiply His hope in the world. Whatever your circumstance, know this: God is faithful, and His plans for you are good.
Let today be the day you step into your destiny, living fully in the hope that comes from Christ. Whether you’re facing personal struggles or feeling called to a greater purpose, trust that God’s resurrection power is at work. Rise, take a step of faith, and engage the destiny He has prepared for you.
