Change is a constant companion in our journey through life. Yet, how often do we find ourselves resisting its call, clinging to the familiar and the comfortable? It’s not just you and me; many grapple with the concept of change. It’s challenging, nerve-wracking, and at times, downright daunting.
Jesus, in His teachings, often spoke about transformation and renewal. He invited us to be born again, to shed our old selves and embrace the new life He offers. But why do we find it so hard to change?
The Challenge of Change
Just like many of you, I’ve wrestled with change. The idea of shedding old habits, breaking out of comfort zones, and stepping into the unknown can be overwhelming. Sometimes, I’ve taken the first step, fueled by determination and hope, only to find myself stumbling a few days later. It reminds me of the times I’ve tried out new exercise apps, thinking they’re the solution to my fitness goals, only to give up soon after.
Faith as Our Anchor
But here’s the thing: our faith can be the anchor that holds us steady amidst these tumultuous waters. When we find ourselves struggling with change, we can turn to God, seeking His guidance and strength. After all, the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Taking Steps Forward
If you’re finding it hard to change, remember that every step, no matter how small, is a step forward. Lean on your faith, trust in God’s plan, and know that He is with you every step of the way. Transformation is a journey, not a destination. And with God by our side, we can find the strength and perseverance to embrace the change that leads us closer to Him.
